On February 10, 1930, a black boy by the name of Bigger Thomas.
In his early 20, he was arrested for suspected alliances with Communist Jan Erelone,
Also in his early 20. The two men were believed to be involved in the murder of 19-year-old heiress, Mary Dalton. The girl’s body was found in the furnace of her home. The true cause of death is undetermined, but the medical examiner notes that she was decapitated and burned after her death. A ransom note was sent to the family demeaning $10,000 bearing the curved knife and hammer, the symbol of the Communist party. Both men have been questioned. Are liable for the homicide.
