Long Way Gone was one of my best books ever because I learn so much of things just by reads this book. This book is about the war that took place in Sierra Leone.
The war was a conflict for the people in Sierra Leone and in this war many people were killed, murder, wounded and rape. Some women were rape during the war because sometime the rebel doesn’t care if you are their mother or who ever. During the war it was poor vs. rich, because if you poor during the war you can leave the country sometime but the rich always have it easier. If you were rich during the war you couldn’t get out, only rich people that had the opportunity to get out the country, by paying soldier or rebel that were on border patrol. During the war they have children soldiers, some soldiers were fighting for them freedom. Some children lost their family during the war. Some people were leaving the country because of the war that took place. Some children were traumatizing, hopped up on drug and wielding Ak-47s. Children become soldiers of choice and is estimated that their 300,000 children soldiers and Ishmael Beah was one of them. In the war some people when to the refugee camp, they take care of people who lost their home or family. They feed, cloth, teach and they give them a safety place to live. Also on the camp they have friend who can be like family to you. They have UNICEF that is the United Nation International Children’s Emergency Fund. They help children who are in danger and they give hem educate, advocacy, fundraising and support.
